For tourists who are pressed for time and yet want to squeeze the best ramen houses into their sightseeing schedules, we recommend ramen theme parks. Tokyo has three complexes that house multiple popular ramen shops. Some of them offer souvenir packaged ramen kits for preparing the dish at home.

Shinatatsu Ramen—Seven Ramen Masters

Shinatatsu Ramen is an arcade lined with seven distinct ramen shops including Nantsuttei, specializing in tonkotsu ramen (pictured), and Tsukemen Tetsu, in noko gyokai tonkotsu. Next to this is Shinatatsu Donburi—Five Donburi Masters, a theme park of rice bowl dishes.

Tokyo Ramen Street

Tokyo Ramen Street is conveniently located in Tokyo Station. It houses eight ramen shops leading the culinary scene in Tokyo, including Mendokoro Honda (pictured), featuring a light soup infused with the flavor of chicken, and Ikaruga Tokyo Station, blending meat and high-grade seafood in a balanced soup.

Ramen Square

Ramen Square houses seven ramen houses in a theme park inspired by the cityscape of New York. Tenants change periodically, so regular customers always get a taste of Tokyo’s leading ramen. One new tenant since April 2014 is Menshiro (pictured), featuring soup made from natural ingredients.
