Planning your trip around sightseeing buses and discount tickets

The area around TOKYO SKYTREE has countless fixed-route buses that tour Ueno and Asakusa, providing a reliable means of transportation for first-time visitors. The various railway and bus operators also offer discount tickets and coupons for partner facilities in the Ueno–Asakusa area, which can be put to full use in planning your trip without committing to a guided tour. 

Make good use of convenient fixed-route buses

SKYTREE SHUTTLE® Ueno–Asakusa Line( External link ) 

The shuttle bus connects three sightseeing spots: Ueno, Asakusa, and TOKYO SKYTREE.

  • Charges: Adults 200 yen * per ride

Tokyo Shitamachi Bus

The fixed-route bus runs from Ueno via the vicinity of TOKYO SKYTREE to Kinshicho Station. Each vehicle is equipped with pamphlets and monitors that provide sightseeing information. The Toei Bus One-day Pass allows unlimited boarding. On weekends and holidays, the route extends from Ueno to Tokyo Station.

Panda Bus (Asakusa Line / Ueno Line)

* The Asakusa Panda Bus service was discontinued on August 14, 2016.

The Panda Bus Passport handed out at boarding contains coupons that can be used at partner shops including the Asakusa Hanayashiki amusement park, and the Asakusa ROX Matsuri-yu  hot springs.

Taito-ku Megurin( External link )

The bus charges only 100 yen for adults and children alike, and offers one connection free of charge. To visit TOKYO SKYTREE, take either the Kita Megurin (north route) or Tozai Megurin (east–west route) to the Asakusa Station area, and then travel on foot.

Sumida Hyakkei Sumimaru-kun / Sumirin-chan

The loop bus covers the Sumida-ku in three routes—northwest, northeast, and south—with each route stopping at Oshiage Station close to TOKYO SKYTREE. Many bus stops are conveniently named after a sightseeing spot such as temples and shrines.
